Bigfoot, Yetis & More

For as well-known and popular as they are, little is known about these shy, elusive bipeds. Thought by many to be a distant relative of Gigantopithecus - a large ape-like animal that stood up to 10 feet tall and only became extinct about 500,000 years ago (a blink in the eye in terms of earth's history), these giant creatures are reported to exist on nearly every continent. Almost every account sounds eerily similar: a large, hairy biped with a man-like face, was spotted in the deep forest. The reports almost always note a foul odor, and high pitched screams that raise the hair on the back of their necks. Most sightings happened at night, and only lasted a few seconds before the creature walked deeper in the woods, never to be seen again.  One of the most notable features of the creature, and one of the few pieces of evidence they leave behind are massive footprints. Indeed, these animals have Big Feet!

Many names exist for these creatures, from Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Skunk Ape, The Abominable Snowman and the Yeti. Most every indigenous Indian tribes in the USA has a name for these animals - well over a hundred names in all. But whatever you choose to call them, just know that even today, new reports continue to come in about strange sightings of these incredible creatures!
